White Refuge
Fortuny-pleated wearable art silk dress, backdrop of acrylic paint on canvas
1983

The Fortuny-pleated white shaft of silk crepe hung before the 2 columns, painted in acrylics on canvas. The dress had a heavily machine embroidered organza yoke & beaded hem. These temple series garments were stolen at my 1992 one-woman show so if you see them, let me know...

This temple series was done for my 1983 student show at Goldsmiths College in London, Embroidery/Textiles program. This fine art department specifically for textiles is quite a wonderful and unique place.
