In summer 2009, I was fortunate to take a week long course with Nicholas Pearce in the Gibsons Summer School of the Arts. It has pushed me to a new level of paint handling and technique.

This painting of Katherine, the costumed flamenco dancer, was done with a limited palette of only 5 paints, something I had not done since art school! I was dying to add more colors but it was very educational to see what can be achieved with such a small palette.

It was also done with only one brush, a 1 1/2 inch house painting brush! Hilarious! We all struggled but it was an interesting proccess and I will certainly take tools from this course and add them to my toolkit.
